What is Pipeline and Culvert Rehabilitation?

Pipeline and culvert rehabilitation is a cost-effective solution for restoring aging infrastructure without full replacement. Using advanced technologies such as SprayWall and polyurethane foam injection, this method improves structural integrity, reduces downtime, and extends service life.

Pipeline and culvert rehabilitation involves repairing and reinforcing existing infrastructure using trenchless methods. These techniques restore performance, prevent failures, and eliminate the need for costly excavation and replacement.

Another Successful Project

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Squamish Culvert Rehabilitation project in Squamish, British Columbia. This initiative focused on restoring a 1.2-meter diameter, 19.5-meter long culvert to ensure its structural integrity and functionality.

Rehabilitation Project Overview

The primary challenge of this project was managing water flow during rehabilitation. Our team implemented an effective bypass system by excavating a sump and deploying four pumps to redirect water, allowing for a dry and safe working environment.

Pipeline and Culvert Rehabilitation Process

Soil Stabilization and Void Filling: We utilized a high-quality, two-component rigid polyurethane foam system. This material is specifically designed for lifting and leveling concrete structures, as well as stabilizing soils. Key properties include:

Density: Approximately 4.9 lb/ft³ (78.4 kg/m³)

Compressive Strength: Ranging from 60 to 75 psi (413 to 517 kPa)

Dimensional Stability: Maintains structural integrity under varying temperatures

Water Absorption: Low, at 0.67%

Structural Lining Application: Following stabilization, we applied SprayWall®, a spray-applied polyurethane lining known for its exceptional strength and durability. This lining offers:

Compressive Strength: Exceeding 18,000 psi, providing robust structural support

Tensile Strength: Greater than 7,450 psi, ensuring resilience under stress

Rapid Cure Time: Becomes tack-free within seconds, allowing for quick project turnaround

Corrosion Resistance: Highly resistant to abrasion and chemicals commonly found in municipal sewage

Environmental Considerations:

Throughout the project, we prioritized environmental stewardship. Our methods ensured minimal impact on the surrounding ecosystem, leaving the site with a near-zero footprint.
